Inspection & Removal of the Old Toilet

If you’re replacing an outdated or faulty toilet, we’ll briefly assess it and begin preparing for our work. We’ll start by turning off the water, draining the old toilet, and disconnecting it carefully. 

Once it’s out of the way, we’ll inspect the flange, drain opening, and condition of the floor around it. This inspection step is important because it reveals issues that are not visible while the toilet is in place. If we find a damaged or corroded flange, a failing shutoff valve, or other concerns, we’ll explain what we see and discuss recommended next steps before we proceed.

Installing & Testing Your New Toilet

Once the base is ready, we prepare the new toilet according to the manufacturer’s instructions and current best practices. 

This typically includes: 

• Installing a new wax ring or appropriate sealing material
• Positioning the toilet carefully over the drain
• Tightening it, so it’s secure without stressing the porcelain or the floor

Then, we’ll connect the water supply, adjust internal components as needed, and test multiple flushes, all while watching for signs of movement or seepage around the base and connections.

Cleanup & Final Walkthrough

Cleanliness and respect for your property are paramount. We’ll remove the old toilet and any debris from the work area, wipe down surfaces we have touched, and make sure there is no standing water left on floors. 

Before we leave, we’ll review our work, mention anything we noticed about your plumbing that you may want to keep an eye on in the future, and answer questions about using and caring for your new fixture.

How Long Does a Toilet Installation Usually Take?

Most standard toilet installations take our plumbers roughly a couple of hours from arrival to cleanup, although the exact time can vary. Simple replacements where the flange, shutoff valve, and floor are in good condition tend to go quickly. On the other hand, jobs that involve repairs or adjustments naturally take longer. 

When you book, our team can give you a realistic time window based on the information you share about your bathroom and building. Our goal is to keep your bathroom out of service for the shortest reasonable time, while still doing careful, thorough work.
