The Town’s engineering standards state that no more than one sump pump may discharge to a side-yard swale. Discharge also isn’t permitted where grading would send water over a sidewalk. If those conditions can’t be met, a storm sewer connection may be required.

For residential storm service laterals, the Town’s development standards list a minimum size of 150 millimetres, PVC SDR 28 as the minimum material, and a minimum slope of 2.0%.
